NomDrop ("we," "us") helps you decide what to eat via three modes: Order In (restaurant delivery/takeout), Usual Spots (your saved favorites), and Cook It (recipe suggestions from what's in your kitchen). This page explains what information we collect and how it's used.
You can use NomDrop as a guest (an anonymous, temporary identity created automatically) or by creating an account with an email/password or Google Sign-In. Authentication is handled by Supabase; if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google as part of that process. Guest sessions that go inactive for 30 days are automatically deleted, along with any data tied to them.
If you create a household, we store what you tell us: cuisines you like or avoid, allergies, dietary preferences, and your saved "usual spots." We also keep a history of suggestions you've received and any feedback you give on them (e.g. thumbs up/down), which we use to make future suggestions more relevant to your household.
Order In and Usual Spots use your approximate location (with your permission) and a search-radius setting to find nearby restaurants via the Google Places API. We don't retain your precise coordinates long-term; we may cache a restaurant's Google Place ID to speed up repeat searches.
When you use Cook It, the ingredients you enter are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a dish suggestion. We keep a short history of ingredients you've entered so we can avoid repeating the same suggestion too often.
We log basic product usage events (e.g. a session starting, a suggestion being shown, whether you accepted or rejected it) tied to your account or guest session, so we can understand how the app is used and improve it.
NomDrop shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and personalize ads and measure their performance. Ingredient search links (Cook It) go to Amazon using our Amazon Associates tag — if you make a purchase after clicking one, we may earn a commission. Restaurant links (Order In, Go Out, Usual Spots) go to DoorDash or Google Maps and aren't currently monetized. Clicking any of these links takes you to third-party sites governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
We use Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (Cook It suggestions), Google (Places API for restaurant search, Sign-In, and AdSense), and Render/Vercel (hosting) to operate NomDrop. We don't sell your personal data.
You can delete your food preferences and usual spots at any time from Settings. To delete your account entirely, contact us at the address below.
NomDrop is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
